DEPARTMENT: Library 

CLASSIFICATION TITLE:  Assistant Librarian

TIMEBASE/POSITION TYPE:  Temporary, Part-time

APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE: Spring 2026
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Cal Poly Maritime Academy Library invites applications for a pool of part-time librarians as needed. Responsibilities may include any combination of the following:
Supporting library instruction and teaching library workshops.

Providing reference services through varied modalities – in person, email, chat, and Zoom

Representing the library at campus-wide outreach events

Creating and updating online resources, including webpages, guides, and tutorials
PLEASE NOTE:
Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Librarian.

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary, so applicants must be available on very short notice.
