Legislative and Political Organizer

JOB SUMMARY The Legislative and Political Organizer is responsible for coordinating membership activities that support the public policy and government relations objectives as set forth by the Cabinet on Health Policy, Oregon Nurse PAC, the ONA Board of Directors and the Director of Government Relations.
The position represents ONA members in various political coalitions, before the State Legislature, and other public bodies, and assists ONAs organizing activities with a health and labor policy emphasis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Works with Director of Government Relations to prepare legislative campaigns and testimony to support ONA priorities.Builds and maintains relationships with Oregon legislators and lobbies in support of our policy priorities.Identifies, recruits and trains members and supportive non-members for effective grassroots action legislative, candidate, and issue campaigns.Plans and executes strategic action for base building and mobilization around policy priorities, ...
