Role Summary

Learning Support Assistant to work within a secondary school setting in Taunton, supporting students aged 11‑16. Students may have SEMH, SCLN, EHCP or additional needs.

This role can be challenging at times; students may present behaviours that require patience, consistency and strong behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and pastoral support to help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Support teachers in the classroom and adapt resources for all students.
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff to share strategies.
• Support the school's behaviour policy and respond to challenging behaviour.
• Encourage positive choices regarding behaviour, attendance, and social interaction.
