Lead Navigations Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Navigations Engineer to design, prototype, and analyze navigation/localization algorithms for extraplanetary mobility systems. This role is pivotal in developing mission-critical navigation systems for a manned lunar rover, set to be driven by the NASA Artemis crew on the moon in 2028. The position involves working closely with the flight software team to build real-time navigation algorithms from scratch, integrating them onto hardware, and testing them in varied environments.
Responsibilities

+ Design, prototype, and analyze navigation/localization algorithms using data from motor resolvers, IMUs, star trackers, cameras, and lidars.

+ Support the development of a GNC simulation, sensor models, and tooling for analysis, verification, and validation of rover localization algorithms.
