Lead Hand, Highway Maintenance

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist leadership with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings, equipment inspection, and road condition inspection reports.
• Support Foreperson in planning work to meet contractual milestones.
• Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew.
• Operate equipment on work sites as needed.
• Help ensure health, safety, and environment concerns are addressed promptly.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement and a clear three‑year driver abstract.
• Previous supervisory experience in highway maintenance, road construction, bridges or a related field.
• Snow plow experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills an asset.
