A stable and established supply chain firm is hiring for a Lead Data Engineer in the Greater Chicago area. This is a hybrid role. This is a rare opportunity to own and build a company’s data platform from the ground up at a stable, long-established organization that is making a serious, well-funded investment in modernizing its technology.
The company is launching a greenfield Microsoft Azure data platform to replace legacy, on-prem systems and is looking for a senior, hands-on Data Engineer to lead that effort end-to-end. You will be the technical authority responsible for architecture, implementation, governance, and long-term reliability, shaping how data is trusted and used across the business for years to come. This role is intentionally deep and hands-on, with a small, high-accountability team and real ownership rather than layers of management or vendor dependency.
