Lead Accountant - MD Medicaid (Hybrid)

**Resp & Qualifications**

**PURPOSE:**
Responsible for a multitude of accounting activities, included but not limited to review of journal entries and reconciliations, the month end close process and audit preparation; analyze balance sheet accounts and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information; ensures that all deliverables comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Contributes to other department and organization special projects as assigned.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

+ Oversee daily accounting operations for government programs (Medicare & Medicaid), including review of premium revenue, medical claims and administrative expenses.
+ Ensure completion and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
