Laboratory Technician – Biocenter Oulu

Position is the Laboratory Technician in the Biocenter Oulu Electron Microscopy (EM) Core Facility, focusing on biological EM sample preparation and imaging services to local users and the national and international research communities.

Main Duties

• Preparation of biological specimens for imaging (fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining).
• Preparation of buffers and staining solutions and use of necessary laboratory methods.
• Additional tasks assigned based on core facility needs and candidate’s skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (e.g., Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist).
• Fluency in written and spoken Finnish and English.
• Good computer, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to focus and perform precision work.
