Laboratory Support Technician

Purpose of Position Provides efficient, professional coordination of Laboratory information and specimen processing. Provides support to the technical staff. Description 1. Must be courteous to patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and other employees of the organization. 2. Ensures the satisfaction of all users of the department's services, both internal and external. This includes developing monitoring programs and continually seeking ways to improve user (i.e. customer) satisfaction. 3. Performs data processing functions to include; non-patient admissions, order entry, cancellation, result entry and retrieval and log review. 4. Operates computer system in all assigned functions including maintenance, troubleshooting and implementation of backup systems. 5. Answers the phone, relays messages, provides prompt and accurate information to requesting parties concerning testing procedures and results. 6.
