Laboratory Support Technician

UPMC Western Maryland's Laboratory is looking for a part time Laboratory Support Technician!

_This role is intended to cover primarily day shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm), but will also cover second shift (10:30 am to 7:00 pm, 11:30 am to 8:00 pm, or 12:30 pm to 9 pm), including rotating weekend and holiday shifts._

The Laboratory Support Technician works with Technical staff in the Laboratory to support analytic activities with tasks required prior to specimen analysis. Duties and responsibilities may vary by location and by services provided by the hiring department.

Responsibilities:

+ All duties of a Specimen Processor including:-
+ Answers phone inquiries. Investigates specimen status and report disposition. Directs callers to additional resources as needed.
+ Receives, sorts, prepares and delivers testing-ready specimens for analysis to work areas.
