Lab Support Officer, Outram Park

• Wash and clean laboratory glassware and apparatus, both manually and using machines.
• Perform soaking and washing of lab glassware according to designated room requirements.
• Wash and soak glassware/apparatus used for cigarette testing, clean ashtray, cartridge and holder.
• Work with diluted acids for soaking/cleaning apparatus/glassware.
• Perform general cleaning of centrifuge, sonicator, fume cupboards.
• Prepare bleach dilution solutions according to lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Operate simple equipment (glassware washer, autoclave, oven, Ultrapure water systems).
• Perform general housekeeping (cleaning and tidying of cupboards, ovens, refrigerators, freezers).
• Sweeping and mopping of floors.
• Clear general waste, chemical, biohazard and cytotoxic waste bins.
• Handle and sort bulk and heavy laboratory consumables.
