I had the pleasure of meeting Carmen, (14), and her family during an online visit. She is so engaging and what a smile! Carmen is very much at the heart of this incredibly warm, upbeat family. Carmen has a little sister and brother whom she loves very much. Her little sister has a strong bond with Carmen and has the knack of getting her big sister to do her therapies on the occasions she is just not in the mood! Carmen is very vocal; during my visit, she relayed to her mum the things she loves to do on a weekend. Dad had just finished painting her nails, all the colours of the rainbow. Carmen absolutely loves her phone, texting her BFF and the close team of therapists she has, going to Starbucks, shopping, and finding new and exciting activities to join. Carmen has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, she can stand and be transferred with support, ( personal care involved ) and is a wheelchair user. She has medication for Epilepsy. She wears hearin...
