TUNNELS & UNDERGROUND WORKS
PROJECT – SHARAAN RESORT (ALULA, SAUDI ARABIA)
Iconic underground excavation project carved directly into the mountain, with strong environmental, architectural and heritage constraints. The project requires rigorous geological monitoring during construction.
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Senior Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer, the Junior Geological Engineer will support geological monitoring activities during underground excavation works and progressively develop technical skills in complex tunnelling environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist with geological mapping at tunnel faces and portals
•Support rock mass classification (Q-system, RMR, GSI)
•Prepare geological logs and daily/weekly reports
•Observe and report specific geological conditions (faults, discontinuities, water inflows)
•Coordinate with construction, methods and geotechnical teams
