Students learn the process of generating, pitching, researching, writing, editing, and publishing stories for printed and online publications. With a weekly lab, this course focuses on fundamentals and principles for gathering, assembling, and producing accurate, timely news stories with headlines, photographs, cut lines, and social media according to Canadian Press style.

Position Requirements

• Teach the independent and critical practice of print/digital journalism and essential skills.
• Preference given to applicants with demonstrated effectiveness in teaching journalism studies, recent and relevant professional experience, and practical experience in print and multimedia.
• Knowledge of news production is expected.
• Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor of Journalism degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
