Japanese Commercial Lawyer

Role Overview

Our customer is seeking an experienced and passionate Japanese commercial lawyer for a 4-month contract with a potential extension to 12 months. The role will focus on high volume and complex commercial contracting, procurement support, and playbook driven legal delivery, working closely with senior client counsel and local Japanese counsel in Tokyo

This role will commence in June 2026 and be based in India, with 100 % remote working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and procurement contracts (MSAs, SOWs, vendor and services agreements).
• Support procurement teams with contract risk assessment, liability allocation, and regulatory considerations.
• Deliver playbook driven contract reviews, identifying non standard terms and applying escalation protocols.
