The Radiology Interventional Technologist-Advanced Procedures works as a member of the Interventional Radiology team of medical professionals. Under the direct supervision of the Interventional Physician, responsible for assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures by performing scrub or circulator functions. Specializes in obtaining high quality diagnostic imaging and assists in the performance of procedures of an invasive nature that aid in the evaluation and treatment of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of angiographic and supporting procedural equipment and supplies in the department. Performs related functions according to department protocols, and utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
