Summary This position is located in the National Firearms Trafficking Center, National Security Section and other various divisions and branches within the Office of Intelligence Operations located in Washington, DC performing work in the collection, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information on conditions, trends, and forces in foreign and domestic areas that directly or indirectly affect the national security. Responsibilities The major duties of the Intelligence Research Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as a senior IRS, a subject matter expert for the most complex illegal national and international criminal and gang activity related to firearms, as well as explosives, arson, other criminal activity, and law enforcement intelligence operations.
