Intake and Assessment Officer

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Intake and Assessment Officer to join our Medicare Mental Health Centre. This role is a critical first point of contact for people accessing mental health support and plays a key role in ensuring individuals receive timely, appropriate and coordinated care.

You will engage with people presenting to the service, conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social and risk assessments, and support individuals to navigate the mental health system through warm referrals and brief interventions where appropriate. The role requires confidence in assessing suicide and violence risk, developing action plans, and escalating high-risk presentations promptly.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will participate in intake and access systems, case reviews, clinical supervision, and continuous quality improvement activities. You will also work closely with community and partner services to support integrated, person-centred care.
