I & E Technician II

**Description:**
* Must be able to recognize and understand definitions and abbreviations used in electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation technologies.
* Must be able to apply terms, definitions, and concepts from mechanics, electricity, heat and chemistry. (Solutions may involve simple formulas for figuring flash point, specific gravity, and expansion rate.)
* Must be able to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
* Understand calibration sheets, instrument specification sheets and installation details. Recognize standard symbols.
* Understand and recognize electrical and electronic units of measurement such as volts, amps, watts, ohms, hertz, farads, etc.; basic components (batteries, voltage sources, current sources, resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors and integrated circuits).
* Be able to apply the principles of pneumatics as used in industrial instrumentation.
