About the District

Nechako Lakes School District is situated on the traditional unceded territories of fourteen First Nations encompassing the Dakelh, Nedut'en and Wet'suwet'en peoples. The district serves five municipalities, the Districts of Fort St. James and Vanderhoof, and the Villages of Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Granisle. With a population of approximately 40,000 residents, the district supports 3,000 students in its standard schools and about 900 full‑time equivalents at EBUS Academy, one of the largest online schools in British Columbia.
