Job Description: Caretaker / Cleaner (2-Month Contract with Local Authority)

Summary: This temporary position is designed to cover sickness until 8 December 2026, offering a pay rate of £15.37 per hour. The role involves providing a high‑quality caretaking and cleaning service across council housing stock, ensuring communal areas are clean, safe, and well‑maintained to support a positive living environment for residents and to comply with health, safety, and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of internal and external communal areas, including:
  • Sweeping, mopping and dusting
  • Litter picking and waste removal
  • Cleaning entrances, stairwells and shared spaces
  • Sweeping car parks, service roads and outdoor areas
• Remove bulk waste and ensure safe and correct disposal
• Collaborate as part of a small caretaking team to deliver efficient and reliable service
