HGV Technician

As the successful HGV Technician, you will report to the VMU Manager and be part of the team responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing the DPD HGV fleet, made up of approximately 1500 tractor units and 3000 trailers. You will ensure that the fleet is maintained to the highest standard of safety, is fully compliant with DVSA regulations, and remains operationally efficient by minimising vehicle downtime. Working in a time‑critical parcel distribution environment, you will remain responsible for the following core duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scheduled safety inspections in accordance with DVSA requirements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults on the fleet.
• Complete repairs and replacements on components including engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspension, steering, electrical systems, diagnostics, exhaust and emission systems.
