HGV Mechanic

Role Overview

Our client is a respected, family‑run plant and transport business operating a mixed fleet of plant machinery and heavy goods vehicles based in Redditch. It is looking for a multi‑skilled engineer who can support both HGV maintenance and plant machinery repairs. This is a long‑term, stable opportunity within a supportive and friendly working environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and diagnostics on HGVs & heavy plant.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance.
• Maintain, service and repair plant machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns and conduct reactive repairs.
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation.
• Work effectively as part of a small engineering team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
