Overview

Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add an Equipment Operator to our growing team, based in Castor, AB. Reporting to the Project Manager, Telecommunications, we are seeking an experienced operator to support underground FTTP and utility installations across Alberta. Main equipment would be a backhoe.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in a safe, efficient and appropriate manor
• Understanding of soil mechanics and work with geotechnical engineers on density testing of soils
• Place telecom structures and pedestals
• Place underground and overhead fiber and copper cables
• Complete daily equipment inspection forms
• Participate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments
• Participate in daily work planning schedule meetings
• Have a sound understanding of issues relating to ground disturbance
• Assist ground crew in duties out of equipment when there is no operating...
