Heat Treatment Operative

At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Heat Treatment Operative to join our team.

This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our Work Rolls department produces forged steel rolls in our custom-built steel processing facility, that is among the most advanced, dedicated forged roll plants in the world.

As a Heat Treatment Operative in this department, you will be operating heat treatment plant and equipment to support the manufacturing on our gun barrel contract.

What you’ll be doing

• Crane driving and slinging.
• Operating Induction hardening stands for hardening rolls, performing coil and quench tank setup changes. 
• Operating computerised systems for induction hardening and conventional furnace controllers/recorders.
• Operating gas fired and electric hardening and tempering furnaces.
• Hardness test preparation...
