Health Care Assistant - Oncology

Overview

Work alongside our nursing team in Nelson Hospital to help provide services to the patients. Permanent part time 0.5 FTE (40 hours a fortnight).

About the Role

The oncology service provides holistic specialist nurse assessment, care and education to patients and whanau diagnosed with cancer. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed. Every day is different and our nursing team enjoys the variety of work, the people they interact with, and the challenge of giving each patient the best customer experience, whilst ensuring that everything runs to schedule. Your hours of work will be 5 eight-hour shifts, rostered and rotating from Monday to Sunday.
