Health And Safety Officer (Heavy Engineering)

The Opportunity

Heavy engineering/ manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Officer to join their Sheffield-based team. This is a highly hands‑on role, ideal for an HSE professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys being visible on the shop floor, and is passionate about driving positive behavioural change and safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and embed a strong, positive health & safety culture across all levels of the business
• Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation
• Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Prepare and review risk assessments, SOPs, and COSHH documentation
• Lead and support HSE meetings and initiatives
