Groundsman / Shuttle Train Operator

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Groundsman / Operator to join our Rail Team in Montréal-Est, Québec, from Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In this role, you are responsible for providing safe and efficient rail car switching services working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic and great communication skills. 

What you’re responsible for:

• Ensuring safe operation of the locomotive and train movements
• Ability to carry out specific instructions detailing a train’s route and specific movements
• Perform switching of railcars, including coupling and uncoupling cars, and is able to lift out coupling devices
• Signaling crew members for movement of the engine or train using a radio to indicate when to start, stop, back-up, set or release air brakes<...
