The Advanced Computing Solutions Group in the NLR Computational Science Center has an opening for a graduate student researcher in Quantum Algorithms with emphasis on optimization.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated researcher with a strong technical background and an interest in the mission of NLR. The successful candidate will collaborate with NLR staff and researchers to design and implement quantum computing emulation capabilities on NLR HPC systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in porting quantum computing optimization codes to CUDA-Q for use with NVIDIA GPUs.
  • Collaborate with NLR researchers on developing formulations and algorithms for solving optimization under uncertainty problems using quantum computers.
  • Contribute to drafts of publications to appear in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
