Interpret customer and Corning internal drawings/blueprints of glass (mirror or other) parts and determine the approach to be used to meet specifications on 5-axis CNC machines, 5-axis AWJ machines, Large Campbell grinders, Northwoods vent hole machines or similar equipment. Determine proper method and sequence to assemble and align workpiece support systems to specific tolerances. Determine what the optimum tooling, grits, speeds, feeds, lead angles are for machining, light weighting or contouring of parts to ensure features and dimensions specified are met. Manage machine/process operations through the CNC controller and process control computer. Monitor, measure, and generate process performance metrics through the use of handheld measurement tools and system-generated data.
