GIS Technician (Duncan)

General Information

Located on Vancouver Island just 50 km north of Victoria and 30 km south of Nanaimo, the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) serves a population of 95,000. The district provides a wide range of local government services.

Position

Regular full‑time GIS Technician in the GIS Section of the Information Technology (IT) Division within the Corporate Services Department.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation plus graduation from a recognized institute with courses in GIS and Cartography or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• A minimum of two (2) years of practical experience utilizing a GIS application.
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and AutoDesk AutoCad in a local government environment is preferred.
• Valid Class5 BC Driver's Licence.
