DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Vice‑President of Policy, Public and Legal Affairs (PPLA), the General Counsel and Director, Legal Affairs serves as the organization’s most senior legal officer and principal legal adviser to the Board of Directors and senior management, providing authoritative legal advice and strategic guidance on all matters affecting the organization. The position is accountable for safeguarding the organization’s legal interests by ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and policies, and by promoting sound corporate governance and effective legal risk management.

In addition, the incumbent leads and directs the Legal Services function, ensuring the provision of high-quality, timely and integrated legal services in support of organizational priorities.
