The successful candidate will cover the full spectrum of African linguistics in both research and teaching. A clearly defined specialization in the linguistics of African languages (African studies) is required, with links to sociolinguistics, anthropological linguistics, and/or discourse analysis, including approaches from translation studies in the context of African languages.
