Role Overview
Tatu City is actively looking to hire a Forestry Officer to safely and professionally carry out tree harvesting, relocation, and translocation activities in compliance with environmental approvals, ensuring tree survival (for transplanted and translocated trees), and alignment with conservation and development requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Identify trees approved for harvesting or translocation based on permits and site plans
Carry out tree felling, pruning and management using approved methods
Execute tree translocation and replanting in designated areas, ensuring proper spacing, orientation, and soil preparation using approved methods
Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in harvesting and translocation
Apply post-translocation care including staking, watering, mulching, and monitoring survival rates
Ensure compliance with environmental permits, safety standards, and best forestry practices
