Fleet Mechanic Emergency Vehicles

The Fleet Mechanic - Emergency Vehicles is responsible to perform skilled mechanical repair and maintenance work on a variety of Regional District vehicles and equipment, with a particular focus on Emergency Vehicle Fleet. Specific duties include performance of preventative maintenance checks, ordering of required parts and file maintenance on the vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities

• 1.Prioritize, diagnose, repair, replaceand adjust to follow Underwriters Laboratories of Canada (ULC), Transport Canada and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommendations as needed on all Fire and Rescue vehicles in the RDCO fleet (approx. 40 units in 5 rural fire halls, 2 city fire halls, and 1 boat house) to minimize downtime. This includes all equipment and electronic systems attached thereto (e.g. jaw systems, chain saws, power generation equipment, portable pumps). Supply and maintain own mechanic handtools.
