**Job Description**
This role focuses on reading and interpreting blueprints, accurately fitting and aligning steel components, and preparing materials for welding in a custom fabrication shop. You ensure precise layout, fit-up, and assembly of metal structures while maintaining high quality and dimensional standards in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

**Responsibilities**

+ Read and interpret detailed blueprints and drawings to perform accurate layout and fit-up of steel components.
+ Lay out, align, and fit metal components prior to welding, ensuring correct dimensions and tolerances.
+ Use tape measures, gauges, squares, calipers, and other measuring tools to achieve precise fit-up.
+ Prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning surfaces.
+ Position, clamp, and secure parts to ensure accurate and stable assembly prior to welding.
