Finish Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Certifications, licences, memberships, and courses: Carpenter Trade Certification.
• Experience: Experience an asset.
• Manual skills: Hand tools.

Physical Demands

• Bending, crouching, kneeling.
• Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
• Handling heavy loads.
• Large workload, physically demanding, tight deadlines.

Work Conditions

• Work site environment: At heights, confined spaces, noisy, dusty, outdoors.
