Finance Manager, Contract

Location: primarily remote with occasional travel to the US. Applicants must currently reside in the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive risk assessment of the inherited Trial Balance. Identify accounting errors or technical debt in opening balances to be flagged to the Board immediately.
• Audit the execution of the recapitalization entries to ensure the FY26 starting position is technically sound and compliant with PE sponsor requirements.
• Proactively identify and document any accounting irregularities or process gaps from previous cycles.
• Redesign the month‑end process from the ground up.
• Implement a standard, audit‑ready format for all reconciliations.
• Direct the daily activities of the accounting team focusing specifically on clearing the reconciliation backlog and fixing historical data entry errors.
