Facility Maintenance Technician - Beaufort County Public Buildings

Description of Work : Performs semi‑skilled and skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of County buildings and surrounding grounds as directed through work orders. Tasks include electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, masonry, and concrete repairs. Duties also encompass cable installation, fluorescent and exit light replacement, plumbing maintenance, carpentry projects, refinish work, and general housekeeping and janitorial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Run computer cable, replace fluorescent tubes and ballasts, turn light switches, and replace receptacles and exit lights.
• Perform plumbing repairs: reseal, replace flush valves, unclog toilets and sinks, replace flush handles, and use plumbing snakes.
• Carpentry work: build projects from blueprints or drawings, replace ceiling tiles, sand, paint, stain, and varnish surfaces.
