Key Responsibilities

Estimating and Tendering

• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates for transmission projects, including overhead and underground lines, substations, and asset replacement or upgrade programs.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, standards, and scopes of work to support estimate development.
• Identify estimating assumptions, cost drivers, risks, and uncertainties, including development of escalation and contingency allowances.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Construction to assess constructability, sequencing, and execution strategies.
• Support capital budget development, business case preparation, and Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) filings.
• Review contract or estimates, tender submissions, and change orders for scope completeness and cost reasonableness.
