Evaluate cost of materials and/or laborPrepare general cost estimatesPrepare second tier cost estimatesEstimate general expensesConduct business cases and provide cost estimates for proposed projectsRead and interpret plans, maps, drawings and specificationsUse computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and other software systemsEvaluate costs prior to contract award ● Follow quantity takeoff proceduresImplement monitoring and reporting processesPrepare and maintain directories of suppliers and specialty trade contractorsCommunicate and liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors and consult with them on changes and adjustments to cost estimates SKILLS AND APPLICATION CRITERIA
