Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator position involves the operation of heavy equipment and the inspection of material arriving at the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, use proper personal protective equipment and other safety equipment.

• Ensures compliance with WCB safety procedures.

• Operate heavy equipment regularly including:

• Landfill Compactor.

• Dozer.

• Excavator.

• Rock Truck.

• Assess incoming material for disposal to determine the contamination rates, determine when contamination levels are exceeded and communicate accordingly.

• Interact with the customers (public and contract haulers) delivering material, other staff, service providers, etc. in a courteous and professional mann...
