Elementary School Tutor (2026-27)

ELEMENTARY TUTOR
JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:   Elementary Tutors are responsible for providing supplemental practice through tutoring children in kindergarten through fourth grades to develop early literacy skills. Each day elementary tutors will use a prescribed literacy program to deliver tutoring in small groups to students. This position reports to the Tutor Supervisor.

Qualifications:

+ Valid Ohio Educational Aide permit (http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Teaching/Licensure/Apply-for-Certificate-License/Educational-Aides-and-Monitors#AIDE) or teaching license

+ Interest in education, specifically helping young children develop early literacy skills

+ Effective interpersonal skills with children and adults

+ An affinity for supporting students as individual learners

+ Sound student and classroom management skills

+ Ability to improvise and problem solve
