Elementary Counselor (2026-2027 School Year)

QUALIFICATIONS: Arkansas Certification in Elementary Counseling



REPORTS TO: Building Principals-Sylvan Hills Elementary



JOB GOALS: Maintain guidance and counseling services for elementary students including sessions and group activities in cooperation with faculties and parents to provide opportunities for optimum growth and development of these students.



PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:




+ Provide counseling individually and/or in small groups for students referred by teachers, principals, parents, and others.

+ Work with parents and school staff to meet the individual needs of students referred.

+ Make home visits as needed to counsel with parents (guardians) of students referred.

+ Work with referral sources in meeting special needs of students referred.

+ Make anecdotal record for each student served individually for counseling purpose only.
