The Smart Photonic Materials (SPM) research group seeks a doctoral researcher for a PhD study focused on novel photochemistry systems for light-triggered hydrogel systems, part of the Research Council of Finland project.

Job Description

The PhD project will involve the design, optimisation, synthesis and characterisation of low‑energy light‑activated photochemical systems for hydrogel crosslinking. The project aims to develop materials with applications in light‑based 3D bioprinting, drug‑eluting implants and on‑demand drug release. The research will be carried out in a multidisciplinary team, producing peer‑reviewed publications and presenting results at international conferences. International mobility to partner laboratories may be possible.
