The Department of Biological and Environmental Science is seeking to recruit a Doctoral Researcher in Cell and Molecular Biology starting , or as soon as possible after that for a maximum of 3,5 years. The fixed‑term position is for completing doctoral studies.

Poorly functioning endothelial layers and mucosal surfaces influence susceptibility to infections and non‑communicable diseases. The Doctoral Researcher will focus on preventive approaches that support health by discovering nature‑based bioactive molecules and by identification of molecular mediators of health benefits of exercise and their synergistic effects. To do this, the doctoral candidate will perform experimental work with microbial and cell cultures, and possibly in experimental animal models.
