Diagnostic Technician - Key Whitman Eye Center, Plano

The Diagnostic Technician works closely with clinic physicians to perform basic, advanced, and complex eye testing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic eye tests, including OCT macula, OCT optic nerve, Lenstar, Orb scan, Optos Fundus photos, EPIC (OPD and glare), immersion, HVF, and other related tests as needed.
• Assist with call and email triage, prescription refills, and patient chart/plan questions.
• Develop a basic understanding of common eye conditions and diseases.
• Maintain and sterilize the exam room and equipment, and properly operate all equipment.
• Assist technicians and scribes as required.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications and understand basic ocular pharmacology, including medication names and uses.
