Developmental Teaching Certificate - Expedited Teaching Pathway

The Developmental Teacher Certificate allows eligible students in the final year of an Alberta Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program to work as teachers while completing their degree. It is intended for individuals who plan to teach and have secured or are seeking employment in a teaching role.

Edmonton Catholic Schools is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year from qualified candidates who hold a Developmental Teacher Certificate. Applications are accepted and interviews are conducted for teaching positions throughout the calendar year.

Edmonton Catholic Schools requires all teachers to be Catholic unless specialized in the following areas:

• Career and Technology Studies (CTS) and Career and Technology Foundations (CTF)
• Lived Indigenous Experiences
• Languages (Cree, French, Spanish, and Ukrainian)
• Music (Elementary and Secondary)
• Substitute Teaching
