Decision Support Specialist

General Characteristics Works closely with customers and design teams in prioritizing data and information requirements.

Determines how Decision Support Systems (DSS) and Executive Information Systems (EIS) will provide the information required to make effective business decisions; translates requirements into applications that employ appropriate decision support and reporting tools.

Involved in the design, development and maintenance of DSS.

Performs modeling of data sources and flows, works with data management staff to define an operational framework that will define, develop and implement DSS, EIS, policies and security frameworks to ensure precise and secure delivery of knowledge and information.

Monitors system performance, implements changes to optimize performance.

Involved in the selection of new products.
