Database Support Analyst

Job description

• Monitor Oracle instance health (wait events, tablespace usage, FRA, job status) and respond to alerts within SLA.
• Operate, monitor, and validate RMAN backups; perform scheduled restore tests and document outcomes.
• Apply patch sets/PSUs and minor configuration updates under change control, including pre/post validation and rollback.
• Manage users, roles, and profiles, and enforce database security and audit configurations.
• Troubleshoot listener, connectivity, TNS, and Oracle networking issues.

Assist with performance triage using AWR/ASH baselines, wait event analysis, and standard checks.

• Maintain accurate database inventory, version levels, and application/service mappings in CMDB.
• Support Data Guard/standby operations, participate in DR testing, and document runbooks and evidence.
